Description
15-30m tall. Bark is gray to reddish brown with deep V furrows. 3 needles per fasicle
 
  Distribution
Naturally occurs in North America but is an important plantation species in Australia, New Zealand and Chile.
 
  Wood Properties
Pale yellow brown with relatively straight grains and prominent growth rings. Has low durability but may be treated with preservatives for outdoor use. It machines and polishes well with good nail holding and gluing ability and resistance to nail splitting
