Once a flexible grazing plan has been developed, use the three month outlook for pasture growth rate stocking rate calculator (Tool 4.5: Grazing management options to convert pastures into beef production) to plan paddock rest periods, graze periods and to control pasture utilisation within the preferred range of DM/ha for animal and pasture production.
Use the information in the 'Weather station description', 'At a glance' and 'Pasture Growth outlook' to adjust up (or down) estimates of pasture growth rate used in planning grazing management.
Further adjust pasture growth rate to reflect the current capacity for pasture growth for each paddock when planning paddock by paddock grazing sequences.
