Australia's Indicator Review

Sustainable forest management is an adaptive process and assessing and reporting on sustainability evolves as data availability and knowledge of forest management improves. Recognising this, before writing Australia's State of the Forest Report 2008, a major review of Australia's Sustainable Forest Management Framework of Criteria and Indicators was conducted.

Australian forest experts and managers representing all Australian jurisdictions and interest groups have been involved in this process. The outcome is the fully revised Australia's Sustainable Forest Management Framework of Criteria and Indicators 2008. This framework forms the basis of Australia's State of the Forests Report 2008.
