International Association of Hydrogeologist Conference: A review of techniques for analysing baseflow from stream hydrographs
Authors: RS Brodie & S Hostetler, BRS
Understanding the groundwater contribution to streams is critical when dealing with a wide range of water management issues. Analysis of the streamflow hydrograph, specifically separating and interpreting baseflow (the longer-term delayed flow from storage) from quickflow (the short-term response to a rainfall event) is a well-established strategy in understanding the magnitude and dynamics of groundwater discharge.
