Adapting Australian agriculture to climate change
Authors: C. Grant - BRS
Dr Colin Grant will identify climate change issues for Australia and propose that there is a need to adapt to climate change rather than being overtaken by it. Climate variability is a natural part of our landscape and primary producers have generally learned to manage the inherent risks of farming. The current drought has received a great deal of media attention and provides vivid images of the conditions being faced by farmers and regional communities. Although this drought is part of normal climate variability, it provides some insight into the possible impacts of climate change.
